It is with deep sadness that the media and entertainment community mourns the unexpected passing of Heidi J. Diamond, a pioneering media executive whose career spanned decades and touched the lives of thousands. Diamond held a distinguished career in the industry, most notably serving as President, Broadcast at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.
Diamond’s impact extended far beyond her executive roles. She was known for her mentorship, guidance, and the belief she instilled in young professionals. One former colleague wrote, “Heidi changed the course of my life. She gave me my very first internship at the Food Network — a short moment in time that sparked my lifelong love of marketing. She believed in me early on, and that kind of belief stays with you. She was someone I could always go to for advice, encouragement, or just a grounding voice when I needed it most. I’ll miss her more than I can say, and I’ll always be grateful for the role she played in my life. Rest easy, Heidi. Thank you for everything.”
Beyond Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Diamond held executive positions at AMC Networks, WE TV, Fuse, Sony/Liberty Media/Game Show Network, and Scripps Networks/Food Network. She later led content, distribution, partnerships, and growth at HealthiNation, which was acquired by GoodRx, and founded the e-commerce brand Frederique’s Choice. Most recently, she was a venture partner at 125 Ventures, consulting, investing, and supporting innovation in the media and entertainment space.
The Diamond family released a statement sharing their heartbreak: “It is with extreme sadness that the Diamond family shares the devastating news of the unexpected passing of our dear Heidi J Diamond. She was a loving sister, daughter, aunt, godmother, mentor to thousands of young adults, and enjoyed many friendships around the globe. We are appreciative of everyone’s love and support. We are planning both a graveside service at King David in Falls Church, VA and also a celebration of her life in NYC at a time and place TBD.”
Heidi Diamond’s legacy is one of vision, mentorship, and kindness. Her influence will continue to be felt across the media industry and by all those whose lives she touched.
